Description

Stay safe and cool on the most demanding job sites with the Banox™ Fire-Resistant Cooling Vest, built for workers in hot and flammable environments. Constructed from Banox™ flame retardant treated cotton, this vest combines reliable fire resistance with powerful personal cooling technology. Choose between Kool Max® frozen water-based cooling packs or Cool58® phase change packs to match your cooling needs. 

Note: The Banox™ flame retardant treatment is effective for 20 to 25 washes, after which fire resistance is significantly diminished. NFPA 70E Rated.

Cooling Comfort

Select the cooling pack that best fits your workday. Kool Max® frozen water-based packs deliver the highest level of cooling energy and require access to a freezer. Cool58® phase change packs freeze solid at a comfortable 58°F and can be activated in a freezer, refrigerator, or bucket of ice water, giving you more flexibility in the field. Both packs are non-toxic, non-flammable, and fully reusable making them a safe cooling solution you can count on.

A Perfect Fit, Every Time

A proper fit is essential for effective cooling. Adjustable Velcro® straps at the chest, waist, and shoulders let you dial in a secure, comfortable, and fully customized fit. Once sized, the zipper-pull front makes it quick and simple to put on and take off every time. The clean, logo-free design means it can be worn comfortably over or under clothing without drawing attention, keeping your look professional in any work setting.

Targeted Cooling Where it Counts

Cooling packs sit inside insulated interior pockets lined with soft, all-cotton fabric to protect the skin. The insulated outer composite layer directs cooling energy toward the body for targeted, efficient relief. You can also fine-tune your comfort level by adjusting the number of packs used or the layers worn beneath the vest.

Deluxe Cooling Head Wrap

Instructions

Kool Max® cooling packs must be frozen in a freezer until solid. Water-based and offering the highest level of cooling energy, these packs require more energy to activate than Cool58® packs but deliver greater and longer-lasting cooling power in return.

Cool58® cooling packs freeze solid at a moderate and comfortable 58° Fahrenheit, so they won't feel uncomfortably cold against the body. Packs can be activated without a freezer — simply submerge in ice water for up to 20 minutes, place in a refrigerator, or freeze for a quick and easy cool-down.

Specifications

One (1) Fire-Resistant Vest Made with Banox™

  • The vest is made with Banox™ fire retardant treated cotton.
  • Please note: The treatment is good for 20-25 washes and then the resistance to fire is diminished.
  • NFPA 70E Rated. CAUTION: If there is exposure to potential arc flash the user should not depend on a cooling vest for protection.
  • Size is adjustable with Velcro® closures at the chest and waist fora snug, comfortable and customized fit.
  • Packs fit into insulated pockets inside the vest. The pockets have a comfortable all-cotton fabric to protect the skin and an insulated outer composite fabric to direct the cooling energy toward the body.
  • Discreet: The vest can be worn over or beneath clothing.
  • Color: Blue

Safety & Precautions

Caution: If there is exposure to potential arc flash, the user should not depend on a cooling vest for protection.

Always use an insulation barrier between the cooling pack and your skin. The pocket or sleeve that holds the cooling pack in the wraps and vests will serve this function for most usage. If additional insulation is necessary, additional covers for the cooling packs are available.

Orders placed before 12 noon EST, Monday through Friday, typically ship the same day. Orders placed after noon, will ship the next business day. If an order requires more than two days before shipping, we will notify you via phone or email regarding the delay.

RETURNS

Products may be returned within 30 days of receipt, provided they are in unused, original condition and include all components and packaging. Approved returns are subject to a 10% fee (to cover disassembly, inspection, and restocking). Shipping charges are non-refundable.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Banox and Nomex?

Banox™ is flame retardant treated cotton. The treatment is good for 20-25 washes and then the resistance to fire is significantly diminished. This fabric is heavier than Nomex™ and is more durable than Nomex™.

Nomex™ is a fabric that is treated by a single step flame retarding process that will last the life of the garment and does not reduce the wear life of the fabric. The Nomex™ is roughly 60% of the weight of the Banox™ and is a bit less durable fabric.

How long does the cooling effect last for pack-based vests?

The reusable Cool58® packs deliver comfortable cooling for up to 2 to 3 hours. The Kool Max® packs deliver comfortable cooling for up to 3 to 4 hours.
