Polar Life Pod cold water immersion system on grass with promotional text.

Polar Life Pod®

Patented Cold Water Immersion

On-Demand, Reusable Cold Water Immersion Device

The Polar Life Pod® is a portable cold water immersion system that lets trained personnel start rapid cooling in minutes. Ready wherever it's needed, on the field, the trail, the base, or the job site.

A person lies on a bright blue bodybag like device with black straps, surrounded by three men on green turf. One man is adjusting the head area, one kneels at the foot, and one crouches nearby.

In the heat of the moment, every second counts

Fast-moving situations are part of sport, the military, and physically demanding work. What decides the outcome is not how fast help arrives, but how fast a response begins.

Cold water immersion allows the body to cool down quickly. The Polar Life Pod® is portable to bring the device to the individual, with no lifting required.

A group of five people on a field are handling a bright blue emergency bodybag like device, which is the Polar Life Pod® a cold water immersion system, with a person inside, alongside blue and white cooler-style containers and a dark blue bag on the field.

Cool first, transport second

The Polar Life Pod® meets the gold standard of cooling, backed by the official National Athletic Trainers Association recommendation for cold water immersion.

A fixed tub only helps if you can get the individual in it, which is not easily accessible. With the Polar Life Pod®, you bring the cooling system to the person and start right away.

Easily Transported to the Individual

The Polar Life Pod® brings the power of cold water immersion to the person in a gym bag that weighs less than 10 pounds. Keep it on the sideline, in the tent, or in the truck, and set it up in minutes wherever it is needed. There is no heavy tub to fill and no hauling required. Fill it from 3 to 4 standard 10-gallon on-site coolers, immerse the individual at ground level, and drain it safely away from the head when finished.

Backed by research

Purpose-built for rapid cooling

We recommend 30 to 40 gallons of ice water for optimal cooling. A study by Dr. Kevin Miller of Texas State University found ideal cooling rates were achievable with as little as 20 gallons for individuals up to 196 lbs. More water cools faster and is preferable for larger individuals when available.

The Polar Life Pod® has over 10 years of successful field experience. It has been validated through several formal university studies, showing the PLP® achieving ideal cooling rates in various configurations. Studies available on request.
