Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the Active Ice® Therapy Pads with a non-Polar Products unit?
No, the Active Ice® Therapy Pads are not compatible with units from other brands. The therapy pads are specifically designed to work with the Active Ice® Cold Therapy System and utilize a unique coupling connection exclusive to Polar Products units.
Are Active Ice® Therapy Pads interchangeable between body parts?
Yes. All Active Ice® Therapy Pads are designed to work with the same control unit. If you already own an Active Ice® System, you don't need a whole new setup to treat a different area, just purchase a separate Therapy Pad. Click here to view all Therapy Pad Options.
Bought this in advance to use as post-op treatment after lumbar fusion. Got me over the pain hump, running at 20 on 60 off all night long. Only 2 minor critiques: the hose coming out of the pad could stand to be a few inches longer, in order to make disconnect easier from supine/slightly head raised position and the hose could also be more centered in the pad in order not to run down the thigh. Otherwise, outstanding worth the money.
The Active Ice system was originally purchased for knee surgery recovery. My husband's back aches prompted us to order the back pad. Switching pads is very easy and quick. We can easily share the machine.
Was advised by surgeon to wear 20 minutes on 10 minutes off for one week. Immensely helpful with mitigating pain and swelling
I'm one week post op for back bolt surgery spinal stenosis on L4-L5 and I really don't know what I would be doing without this machine to kick the painkillers into working a bit better. I've only used the smaller pad a couple times so far to try to get some sleep. Mostly I'm on the large pad sitting down because it can get my upper and lower back and rear hips. Gonna be a few more weeks till I only need to ice the surgery scar area. Stays cold a long time. Keeps me cool in these 90-degree temperatures. And wearing it on my back in this chair has helped my feet! Who knew!
I had to use this for my pelvis every freaking night for 6 months. It lasted really well and only finally leaked after such a long and abusive period with folding for travel. So yeah! It's solid!
