Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS), is a complex, long-term condition that goes far beyond feeling “tired.” It causes persistent, overwhelming fatigue that isn’t relieved by rest and can make everyday activities like work, family time, and even simple tasks feel exhausting. Many people develop ME/CFS after an illness, and symptoms may include unrefreshing sleep, brain fog, dizziness when standing, and post-exertional malaise (PEM), a worsening of symptoms after even small amounts of physical or mental effort.
There is currently no single cure, so care focuses on managing symptoms, supporting the body, and carefully pacing activity to help prevent energy crashes and maintain quality of life.
"I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and it causes me to not be able to control my body temperature or handle the heat. The Kool Max vest has been a big help. It really makes a difference when I go shopping or run errands. It gives me peace of mind. Thank you!" - Deborah in Lorton, VA
