Cooling Packs

How do I know which cooling packs are right for me?

Kool Max® Cooling Packs — Maximum Cold, Freezer-Charged
Kool Max® packs are water-based and freeze solid, delivering the deepest, most intense cooling in our lineup. Expect up to 3–4 hours of cooling per charge, longer than any other pack we offer. Freezer access required. These are the workhorse packs for high-heat industrial environments, extended outdoor shifts, and anyone who wants maximum cooling duration.

Cool58® Phase Change Cooling Packs — No Freezer Required
Cool58® packs use phase change material that charges at just 58°F (14.4°C). Drop them in a container of ice water for about 15 minutes and they're ready to go — no freezer needed. They hold a consistent, comfortable 58°F for 1.5–3 hours depending on pack size and conditions. The most versatile pack in our lineup, and the go-to choice for travel, workplace use, and heat-sensitive medical conditions like MS.

Quick Cool™ Cooling Packs — Soft, Fast, and Budget-Friendly
Quick Cool™ packs stay comfortably soft even when frozen, making them ideal for direct skin contact and accessories worn close to the body. They provide about 30 minutes of cooling relief per charge. Freezer access required. A cost-effective option for short-duration needs or as a supplemental pack to extend your cooling rotation.

Most of our best-selling body cooling products give you the choice of Kool Max® and/or Cool58® packs. You can choose the "Home & Away" kit option to get both.

Circulating Water Cooling

How long does the cooling effect last with the Cool Flow® System?

Cooling time can vary based on several factors, but many customers report 2–3 hours of cooling with the 9-quart system. The 16-quart system typically provides 4–5 hours between ice changes. Several things affect how long the cooling lasts:

Body Heat: Everyone generates different levels of body heat. As the system pulls heat away from the area it's cooling, the ice or frozen bottles will melt. This is a sign the cooling is working.
Cycle Time: Longer cooling sessions will require more frequent ice or bottle changes. Always follow your healthcare provider’s recommended cooling schedule.
Cooling Setting: Higher flow settings (1–4) deliver colder cooling but use ice faster. Lower settings help extend cooling time.
Type of Ice Used: Frozen water bottles last significantly longer than loose ice. That’s why Cool Flow® Systems are designed to hold standard 16 oz frozen water bottles, creating a larger, longer-lasting cooling source than traditional ice.

How long does the cooling effect last with the Cool Flow OR® System?

Cooling time can vary based on several factors, but many customers report 3–4 hours of cooling with the 13-quart system. The1 9-quart system typically provides up to 6 hours between ice changes, while the 30-quart system provides up to 8 hours. Several things affect how long the cooling lasts:

How long does the cooling last with the Arctic Chiller System?

Cooling lasts as long as the Arctic Chiller is turned on.Tip:adding two cups of ice to the cooling reservoir isn't necessary, but it can help the chiller reach your target water temperature faster during start-up.

Cool Comfort® Evaporative Cooling

How long does the cooling effect last for Cool Comfort® garments?

The length of time an evaporative cooling garment will provide cooling is dependent on the environmental humidity in the area it is being used. The lower the humidity, the greater the evaporation and the more effective the cooling. In low humidity climates these garments will last several hours before needing rehydrated. In higher humidity climates they will stay hydrated for many ours but not cool very well if at all.
