Details: We bought this unit before my recent knee replacement surgery and it's been a key tool in managing post-op challenges including pain. It's easy to use and reliable of course it helps relieve the swelling, but also helps manage the pain from PT required walking. I'll never go through another joint operation without having one of these with me post-op.

Details: I've been using this for 5 days now after knee surgery. I like it so much more than ice. Much more convenient! I found that placing frozen water bottles inside just doesn't chill the water as much as dumping good-old ice in there. I did then top it off with a few bottles of frozen water to help keep it colder, longer, and it seems to helps. I really like the auto-on & off function. I actually look forward to using it!

Details: Buy direct from US company. They answer the phone, they ship the next day. You can get exactly what you need. Ability to swap out 6 sealed frozen water bottles is incredibly fast, clean and convenient. Timer gives you adjustable periods of cooling and rest, even if you fall asleep. I chose to add extension tubing and power cord - tank is out of the way, tubing routed so it is not a trip hazard, and control is right at my bedside. Large knee pad is perfect for TKR. Temperature is uniform and constant. I wish I had this for my first TKR. Inexpensive, but SO beneficial!

Details: I ordered this machine with the full size pad so that it would be useful with my upcoming knee surgery so that it would cover the entire knee and not just the top. I watched several YouTube videos and they were very informative. I also had a friend that used one for her knee replacement. I used 6 frozen 16.9 oz water bottles to keep the water cold. About every 10-12 hours we would switch out the water bottles for new frozen bottles. The pump circulated the cold water through the pad and kept my knee swelling to a minimum. The remote made it even more awesome because I could put it on either in the day or at night and it would cycle on and off. My routine was 30 minutes on and 30 minutes off. I never had to worry about turning it off and on. I highly recommend this product for anyone having knee surgery. Last but not least it is less expensive to purchase this machine than rent one, unless your insurance will cover the cost.

Details: This cold compression was a huge help with ACL recovery. I got the full circumference (rectangular) pad since I was going to be having a hamstring graft from behind my knee. The 9qt cooler with 6 frozen 16oz bottles of salt water (3 x 6 to rotate the frozen ones) keep it cold for hours, though it would be just cool by morning. I used a crossbody purse/messenger bag to carry the bottles to/from the freezer while I was on crutches. The newer controller allowing control over time on/off as well as coldness (really the flow rate) was a big help, because it can be almost too cold with fresh bottles, but not quite enough a few hours later. I'll keep using this going forward for knee stiffness and swelling. For long-term storage, based on other reviews of similar products, maybe take it out every 1-2 months to run some water (ice or not) for just a little bit to keep all the elements operational.

Details: I purchased the Polar Active Ice® 3.0 Full Circumference Knee Compression Cold Therapy System, 9-Quart Cooling Reservoir based on a friend's recommendation after her use of one. It was after my knee replacement surgery and it did everything I expected it to do. It worked exactly as advertised and was a lifesaver after my surgery. It is indeed an excellent and reliable product. I recommend it to others now.

Details: Had partial left knee 4/21/23. Had rented an ice machine for two weeks post surgery. Rental expired. Went online to find n research ice machines to purchase that were complicated. Went on online to Polar, excellent reviews. Called up the Polar Company n customers Services was outstanding. Ordered online, two day shipping (no charge). Ordered Tuesday, received Thursday. Had couple of questions, were always answered quickly. Set up was easy( I am not tech person n live alone). My neighbor brought me 18 16oz Smart water bottles. These have no plastic labels to remove when placing six frozen bottles in the ice chest. Have a small table on the left size of my bed n the ice machine is placed on this table. Hose is long. Make sure when attached to pad , hose attached to pad is straight. Otherwise, water spout in cooler stops spouting water out. After several times, I figured it out. The six frozen water bottles stay frozen for about 2 days. I then place 6 frozen bottles from freezer n freeze the six removed. Has a timer which is so convenient . Also to clean, a tablespoon of rubbing alcohol in the cooler every 2 weeks. Last week, cleaned out n replaced water with fresh water. The city company is family owned n based in the US. I am fascinated by the invention of this machine. Would love to meet the inventor. Price was within by means. Thk you everyone at Polar Company. Just amazing product n company. Details: I had arthroscopic knee surgery and I had the Polar Cold Therapy waiting for me when I got home from the hospital. I kept in on for 3 days, only re-filling the machine 1 time a day. The built in timer made the whole thing WONDERFUL! No messing around with bags of ice and constant changing of ice packs. After the first three days, when I was able to get up and walk around a bit with crutches, I went right back to the cold therapy. I am 2 weeks post-surgery, and I have no pain at all (I used the prescribed pain pills for just 2 days} and I attribute this greatly to the Polar Active Knee compression Cold Therapy! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

Details: Order shipped quickly and very easy to use. Performs ten times better than regular cold packs. Chills so well I had to set the flow rate down on the controller right away on first use. I got the Full Circumference Knee pad for therapy on a total knee replacement I had and find it doesn’t conform well around the joint. Looks like the Knee, Ankle, Elbow and Joint pad might do a better job making contact around the varied surfaces. Overall very pleased with the system.
