Details: 2 weeks post TKR today. My Active Ice machine has been my constant companion. I just rotate in my stash of frozen water bottles and I can ice my knee all day long. Has helped with swelling and I’m able to use fewer narcotics. The 9 quart is nice and portable but still packs a powerful punch.

Details: Don't know how I would have gone through my first and hopefully only knee replacement without this ice machine. It would have been SO much more difficult. We did as advised by Randi (I believe that is her name) and used frozen water bottles instead of ice to keep the water cold. I adjusted the timer to 20 min. on and 30 min off then just let the machine do it's magic. I believe this wonderful little machine made what is a pretty difficult surgery a much easier experience.

Details: It helps a lot with pain. Reasonably priced, too. I wish it had an ice block that you could freeze so you didn’t have to take 6 bottles in and out if the freezer. I would purchase that so it would stay frozen longer and wouldn’t be as messy. Also would improve on the Velcro straps and have it built in to the sleeve. And make the disconnect up closer so it isn’t so long to walk around.

Details: I had surgery down the front of my shin, 2 weeks ago and have been using this Polar Active Ice 3.0 for two weeks straight. It has not leaked, you can use ice in soft drink bottles and..... you can control how long it stays on, the off interval in and how cold it gets. I bought the one with the XL pad (rectangular) as the incision is very long.

Details: Had knee replacement on July1. I purchased this product based on a recommendation from the PT. It is great. Gets cold fast and stays cold. Best think is being about to use .5L water bottles as the cooling medium. I put in 6 frozen bottles and use the machine around 7 in the morning. I have a pools of 18 bottles to load up the machine. But on set is good for 5 or 6 treatments over about 12 to 14 hours. Also, you don't have to dump and refill the cooler. Just put in a new set of bottles. It's great. I use it several times over the course of the day and only have to use one set of bottles.

Details: This product is great and the sales associate was super helpful when I called in guiding me which knee compression to get for my TKR surgery which was the full circumference one. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is after a period of time the Velcro straps curl up on one end and doesn’t stick as well as it did when I first started using it. The clear plastic thing that attaches the hoses to the pad eventually stops sticking as well. Other than that it’s a great machine and has worked out well for me during my recovery period.

Details: As recommended, I ordered the flat rectangular pad to fully encompass my knee. I used this machine with frozen water bottles and 20 min on 20 min off cycles (with the timer) throughout much of my first week, decreasing the use week 2. It was a lifesaver - decreasing pain and swelling.
