"Love it"
Marjie Symmes on 3/5/2024 11:21:10 AM
Details: I had reverse shoulder replacement surgery, and this mighty machine is a life saver. Only thing that could be improved is the quality of the Velcro, it doesn’t stick as well as it should. And, it could be shorter.

"nice and cold"
jackie williams on 2/20/2024 12:59:22 PM
Details: The cold therapy was great after surgery, but it's somewhat heavy on a tender shoulder, and the location of the water hose means gravity tugs on it and puts pressure on the injury if worn as photos of product show. Suggestion for users of this product: get some 2 velcro and cut it into 6 pieces and use that to manipulate the shape of the pad to fit your body. the straps that come with it are ok, but way too long.

"Rotator cuff rehab"
Mike O'Malley on 2/4/2024 2:52:22 PM
Details: I purchased the Polar Active Ice 3.0 Cold Therapy Ice Machine System after I had surgery for rotator cuff tendon repair and a bicep tear repair. This product worked great for my rehab and we will use it for my wife's future knee surgery.

"Rotator Cuff"
Mr Ed on 2/3/2024 6:50:50 PM
Details: Did my homework and research on these machines, Polar definitely Number 1. My only slight problem with the shoulder piece was the fact that my wife has to wear the immobilizer sling for six weeks. Could not get the pad over or through the sling placement. We have it placed over, on top of her surgery. It really does the job, just couldn’t strap it. Again, the timer feature and fact that I’m using the frozen water bottles in place of loose ice is great! Thank you again, please include a picture with a person with the sling on! Glad it’s a small business, made in the USA!

"Just what the Dr ordered"
Malcolm Bruce MacEwan on 1/5/2024 1:25:00 PM
Details: My doctor recommended icing my shoulder after rotator cuff surgery, and this device was great. I like the fact that you can set a timer for on and off as well as the coldness level.

"Perfect Cold Therapy"
Kathleen Upton on 11/21/2023 2:42:38 PM
Details: I was going to rent a cold therapy machine from my doctor's office, but I inquired about the product and found that it had an auto shutoff after 20 minutes. I researched other products and found that Polar has the only programmable cold therapy machine, and it is made in the USA. I am able to program exactly what I need 120 minutes on, 30 minutes off. I was a little worried about using the machine because I do not like ice treatments. This is very different from an ice pack. Ice water is continuously pumped through the shoulder pad, and it is not too cold (it also has 4 temp. settings), and more importantly, I feel no shoulder or upper arm pain while using the machine. Two weeks after rotator cuff and bicep surgery, I still use the machine at least twice a day after PT and at the end of the day when I am sore. I called customer service with a few questions before ordering the machine, and they were so helpful and nice. Also, it shipped out the same day.

"Shoulder repair"
Mark Landmann on 8/9/2023 12:37:49 PM
Details: Unit works great. frozen water bottles a must - you get about 6 hrs using six bottles. I bought the extra extension tube - another must - provides a bit more mobility getting up. motor is noisy, so get a blanket and throw it over the cooler. also put the cooler on the kitchen floor matt with a towel to help dampen the sound and protect wood floor.

My wife had a shoulder replacement and I purchased this device to help her heal and make her more comfortable through the recovery. She loves it and it has helped her. I also have a bad back and I put this on my lower back and it helped bring down the inflammation.

"Great for cold therapy"
David Ott on 11/20/2022 4:32:10 PM
Details: I used this to recover from rotator cuff repair surgery which I was told is a very painful journey. My orthopedic surgeon strongly recommended purchasing one. I had previously used an older model for my knee arthroscopy which was OK, but the 3.0 model with the shoulder cooling pad was much improved with a timed cycle controller, larger ice capacity, and quieter pump. I used it for a month solidly and was able to manage my pain level to a low level with cycling ice therapy and an acetaminophen/ibuprofen mix suggested by my orthopedist.

"Better than frozen peas!"
Eugene Robinson on 10/6/2022 4:58:39 PM
Details: This was a really ingenious idea that works so much better than a bag of frozen peas. In the first place, it is important to manage the time being chilled and time to give it a rest. This unit did all that for me while I lay blissfully in a medicated state. I believe the real key to its effectiveness are the well designed pads that the chilled water flows through. Clean and easy to use!

"Cooler"
Tom Diller on 8/30/2022 9:45:59 PM
Details: Fast shipping less than a week. I wish the strap was 48 inch long not just 44 inch. I bought the 10 inch extension to help. This is not the best. It's not very wide like 3/4 the width of the other strap and the velcro needs to be flipped on one end to attach to the longer strap. Also wish the cooling pads had more padded edges, they kinda dig into you. Other than that it's a quality product and I recommend getting one if you are needing a cooling system.

"Great cooling machine"
Craig Kohanski on 8/22/2022 11:58:33 AM
Details: It is super, only have to exchange the frozen bottles twice a day. I use it every few hours after my shoulder exercise. Just one recommendation, if you are wearing a sling, take it off to put the shoulder pad on. Maybe also the Velcro strap on the arm would work better if it were loose on the front (attach it from the back to the front.) it might be the same for the underarm strap also. The shoulder strap is as it should be. It can be a little difficult to get strapped in using one hand but it is really worth it. It is so much better than the one they offered at the surgeons office and $50 cheaper.

"Highly recommended"
Shannon Matthews on 8/8/2022 3:03:34 PM
Details: So, I ordered this direct from company website with little time to spare. Ordered Wednesday evening and received in Milwaukee on Friday. My shoulder surgery was Wednesday the next week. I cannot say enough good things about this. I was able to strap it on myself, despite doing it left-handed since my right hand is dominant. It's very quiet and chills down super-fast. My literal only complaint is that a 5lb bag of ice does not last for 8 hours, even on lowest setting of 1. It goes about 5.5 hours on its lowest setting. Unfortunately, after I recover from right shoulder rotator cuff tear repair, shoulder decompression, bone spurs removal and debridement. My left shoulder will be next. My only solace is knowing that this will be waiting for me.
